Job Overview:
Health Tech Services Group is seeking dedicated and compassionate Ambulance Support Staff to support our emergency and non-emergency patient transport services. In this role, you will work as part of a dynamic team to ensure that patients receive safe, efficient, and high-quality transportation to and from medical appointments, hospitals, or other care facilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Transport:
- Assist in the safe and comfortable transport of patients, including those with mobility challenges, to their scheduled medical appointments and emergencies.
- Secure patients using appropriate safety equipment, including stretchers and wheelchairs, to ensure their comfort and safety during transport.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:
- Work closely with ambulance teams, including paramedics and healthcare professionals, to provide compassionate care during transport.
- Communicate patient needs and status updates to medical staff to ensure the continuity of care.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure that all ambulance equipment is clean, operational, and ready for use. Always adhere to infection control practices.
- Assist with the stocking of medical supplies and equipment within the ambulance to ensure readiness for various types of transports
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of patient transport details and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Update patient transport logs as necessary, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies effectively, assisting in patient care as directed by the qualified medical staff.
- Participate in regular training and drills to ensure readiness for various emergency situations.
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that patients and their families feel supported and informed throughout the transport process.
- Address any patient or family concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in healthcare or emergency services is preferred.
- Certification:
- First Aid and CPR certification required. Additional training in patient handling and transport is beneficial.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform lifting and transporting tasks safely.
Working Conditions:
- Ambulance Support Staff will work in various settings, including inside ambulances, healthcare facilities, and patients’ homes. The role may require flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
